Natures Way Foods Commitment to the Financial Resilience of Their Staff

Natures Way Foods, a Portsmouth-based food producer employing over 1,200 people, wanted to tackle staff financial stress as part of a wider wellbeing programme. Recognising that expensive short-term credit and money worries were affecting employees’ mental health and financial resilience, they engaged Wagestream in early 2019 to explore an on-demand pay and financial wellbeing solution.

Wagestream delivered access to accrued earnings plus real-time tracking and other money-management features, helping employees avoid costly credit and better manage cashflow. Within three months 34% of the workforce had signed up and users returned on average 21 times per month; during lockdown the service gave staff added flexibility and peace of mind, supporting Natures Way Foods’ goal of a more supported, resilient workforce.
