British Restaurant Group - Customer Case Study

British Restaurant Group, a multi-site hospitality employer, struggled with strong seasonal attrition—particularly higher turnover in summer months—which drove significant re-hiring and training costs. To address this, the group launched Wagestream (an employee financial-wellbeing/earned-wage-access service) at the end of May 2019.

Wagestream’s launch produced an immediate and sustained drop in attrition, even in historically high months, reducing seasonal variance. The vendor estimates the decline will save the British Restaurant Group £2.7M in 2019; for example, July’s short‑term leaver rate fell from 2.1% to 1.5% (‑28%), saving £177K that month or about £2.1M annually on short‑term staff alone.
