How New York Restoration Project Leverages SugarCRM to Beautify Green Spaces

New York Restoration Project (NYRP), a nonprofit dedicated to creating and maintaining high-quality public spaces across New York City, needed a better way to track the many activities, relationships, and locations involved in its work. Its legacy systems, including ETO and Excel spreadsheets, could not keep up with the organization’s growth or capture the detailed data NYRP needed across its 100 acres of park land and 52 community gardens. W-Systems helped NYRP evaluate and implement SugarCRM to address these challenges.

W-Systems customized SugarCRM so NYRP could manage each park or garden as an account, track related activities with more than 70 dependent fields, and use the wMaps add-on to store GPS coordinates and generate directions through Microsoft Bing Maps. The result was much better visibility into programs and operations, improved decision-making, and stronger user adoption across departments. NYRP also reported that the system’s success led to plans to double its Sugar licenses in the near future.
