The Texas Tribune, a nonprofit, non-partisan media organization, needed a CRM system that could support its mission, fundraising, event management, and growing back-office operations while integrating with its high-volume Django-based publishing platform. W-Systems was brought in to design and implement the CRM back end, using SugarCRM to connect public website activity with donor and audience data.

W-Systems delivered the first phase of the CRM within 90 days, integrating registrants and donors from the Texas Tribune website into SugarCRM, adding support for fundraising and event management, building custom relationship-tracking tools, and connecting email marketing with the Tribune’s notification system. The solution improved visibility into donor relationships, streamlined data entry, and helped the Texas Tribune manage fundraising and accounting more efficiently without adding staff, while staying within budget.
