Cadreon Develops Audience-Targeting Platform with AWS

Cadreon, the advertising tech unit of IPG Mediabrands, needed a way to build a new audience-targeting platform that could handle massive datasets, support real-time analysis, and scale quickly without burdening a small IT team. The company turned to W-Systems and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to avoid the complexity and cost of expanding its on-premises environment.

Using W-Systems’ cloud approach on AWS, Cadreon built its audience-insights platform with Amazon EMR, Amazon EC2, Apache Spark, Druid, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Redshift. The solution processes data from 11 advertising sources and 240 TB of data, enables big-data queries from thousands of sources in seconds, and lets Cadreon scale to 400 instances with only a few people—without large upfront hardware investments.
