Spicer Group, a US-based professional services firm, faced challenges with their Cisco-based branch network, including licensing friction, a rigid operational model, and vendor dependence as they grew. They sought a more flexible and controllable networking solution and turned to the VyOS open-source network OS to modernize their infrastructure.

VyOS was deployed on bare-metal hardware across 13 branch sites, providing a CLI-first operational model with Linux flexibility. This implementation allowed Spicer Group to scale their network without a redesign, achieve greater operational simplicity and stability, and successfully complete an in-house migration from Cisco. The VyOS solution reduced vendor constraints and provided a clear path for future upgrades and expansion into public cloud environments.
