BMC Discovery 9.0 Implementation in Large Financial Company

Large Financial Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of an international all-finance organization operating across multiple continents, faced poor visibility into its data center with ~4,000 servers and 500 network devices and lacked accurate dependency and asset information in its Remedyforce CMDB. To address this, the customer engaged Vyom Labs to implement an enterprise discovery solution using BMC Discovery and integrate discovered data into Remedyforce.

Vyom Labs implemented BMC Discovery V11.0, performed discovery of servers, network, storage and databases, completed dependency mapping for 30 home‑grown applications using the SAAM method, and integrated BMC Discovery with the RF CMDB via Pentaho jobs while providing training and SME support. As a result, Vyom Labs delivered an automated, up‑to‑date inventory of approximately 4,000 servers and their relationships, significantly increased visibility and transparency, supported LCM/ITFM/SAM processes, reduced audit preparation effort, and lowered business risk during consolidation and security incidents.
