BMC CLM Upgrade from 2.1 to 4.5 At Large Telecommunications Company

Large Telecommunications Company (Mexico) relied on BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management (CLM) v2.1 to deliver cloud services but faced exhausted support and growing operational limitations—needing horizontal support for latest hypervisors, modern compute and network devices, and reduced day-to-day dependency on the IT team. Vyom Labs was engaged to address the upgrade path from CLM 2.1 to CLM 4.5 and the data-structure and integration challenges tied to the customer’s Parallel service-request interface.

Vyom Labs performed a detailed assessment, used data-checker utilities and custom scripts to rebuild missing data, and executed a phased upgrade (CLM 2.1 → 4.1 → 4.5) with staged cloning, backups, workflow/API updates and AR consolidation. The upgrade delivered measurable results: support for the latest VMware versions and network devices, the third‑party service desk was updated and supported, and merging two ARs resolved a major DSO issue—enabling improved operational efficiency and a successful go‑live.
