A Vynyl Case Study
The customer, Multitudes, a platform originating from the UCSF Dyslexia Center, faced the challenge of translating cutting-edge neuroscience research into a practical tool for the early detection of dyslexia in young students. They partnered with the vendor Vynyl to build a digital assessment platform that could identify reading difficulties years earlier than traditional methods for California's diverse student population.
Vynyl implemented a comprehensive solution involving software development, cloud infrastructure, and a responsive application. The resulting platform features adaptive testing, a robust messaging architecture for poor network environments, and a game-like interface for students. This solution achieved an average assessment time of under 15 minutes per student with immediate reporting. Following a successful validation with over 12,000 students, the platform is scheduled for a statewide launch to benefit 1.3 million California students.
