Simon & Schuster, a division of CBS that ships 150 million books annually, needed to improve the speed and accuracy of order picking to meet variable demand and high service standards. To address this challenge they deployed a Voxware‑powered voice recognition solution (delivered by AL Systems) in their Riverside, NJ distribution center.

Voxware’s voice system, integrated with HX3 wearable computers, ring scanners and the warehouse WMS, enabled a pick‑and‑pass workflow that doubled pick productivity (100% improvement), eliminated up to 50 temporary positions, and allowed consolidation of two facilities into one. The project delivered ROI in under a year, increased predictability and accuracy, and supports roughly 600,000 units shipped per day.
