Wildlife.ai uses FiftyOne to accelerate wildlife conservation

Wildlife.ai, a New Zealand charity that uses AI for environmental protection, was developing the Wildlife Watcher, an open source smart camera trap. Their challenge was to create a system that would enable a wide community of users to easily analyze the camera data and create their own machine learning models, moving beyond traditional monitoring tools.

By using FiftyOne, Wildlife.ai empowered users to effectively process camera trap data, which has already outperformed traditional tools in recording both invasive and native species, accelerating the pace of wildlife conservation.
