Siena College Uses Voxco Survey Software for NYT Upshot Polls

Siena College Research Institute (SCRI) at Siena College faced an unprecedented challenge: in partnership with The New York Times Upshot they needed to run nearly 100 live polls during the 2018 midterm elections, requiring millions of phone calls, hundreds of interviewers, real-time reporting, and coordination across partners and time zones. To meet this scale and complexity they selected Voxco’s Survey Software—using the Voxco Phone Survey system with CATI and an integrated Dialer.

Voxco delivered a centralized, robust CATI/Dialer platform and access to a client partner network so SCRI could program surveys centrally, set calling rules and quotas, assign interviewers, and onboard four partner centers quickly. The Voxco solution enabled about 3 million phone calls and 96 polls over two months, supporting live, transparent results on The New York Times Upshot and giving millions of readers real-time polling updates.
