How easyJet holidays managed the Covid-19 crisis with automated refunds

easyJet holidays, part of easyJet, needed a fast way to handle a surge of cancellations when Covid-19 hit in March 2020. Instead of cashback, the team wanted to refund customers with gift cards or refund credits to protect liquidity and encourage future bookings. They chose Voucherify, using its API-first SaaS platform with .NET Core SDK and React frontend integration.

Voucherify helped easyJet holidays automate refunds to gift cards at scale, with the full integration completed in about 12 weeks from first contact to first refund processed. The company also used Voucherify for an email campaign offering a £100 voucher to customers who had not yet used easyJet holidays, and plans to use Voucherify for more targeted promotions, expiring credit incentives, loyalty, and referral programs in the future.
