Associated Pharmacies, Inc (API) is a member-owned buying cooperative that distributes pharmaceuticals and OTC products to independent pharmacies across the U.S. API needed better compliance, WMS, demand planning, analytics and e-commerce capabilities because their previous system could not handle licensing and impending regulatory changes or identify potential diversion of controlled substances. To solve these gaps they evaluated and chose VAI’s S2K pharmaceutical solution (S2K Pharma).

VAI implemented S2K Pharma including a web portal, EDI integration, a suspicious order monitoring dashboard, and warehouse picking/verification workflows (RF guns, A-frame, and a separate invoicing/verification station). As a result, API saw a 20% increase in lines-per-hour in the warehouse, roughly a 10% and growing increase in order volume, improved online ordering (now ~70% of incoming order value) with out-of-stock alerts at checkout, and stronger ability to detect potentially suspicious orders — outcomes achieved using VAI’s S2K solution.
