Acme Tools, a family-owned tools and equipment retailer founded in 1948 with nine locations and about 100,000 SKUs, faced challenges with inventory visibility, slow checkout and service/repair tracking, and limited mobile capabilities for its 60 outside sales reps. To address these needs, Acme Tools partnered with VAI to deploy the S2K suite including Retail POS, Service & Repair, Mobile, CRM, Demand Planning, WMS and eCommerce.

VAI implemented a comprehensive S2K solution—POS for faster checkouts and company-wide inventory visibility; Service & Repair and warranty workflows; Mobile for real-time pricing, inventory and field quoting; CRM for end-to-end sales; Demand Planning and drop-ship capabilities; RF-enabled WMS; and eCommerce integration on IBM WebSphere. The result was significantly quicker customer checkouts, real-time stock visibility that reduced lost sales, improved warehouse accuracy and productivity, and more efficient purchasing and fulfillment processes driven by VAI’s software.
