NextGen Great Sealcoating, founded by Tim Smeltz after he couldn’t find a contractor to seal his driveway, pivoted dramatically after losing a preschool contract for using coal-tar–based sealer. Seeing the asphalt maintenance industry as outdated, Tim set out to both create a safe, non-toxic sealant and repackage the business as a scalable franchise—developing the product over six years and building franchise systems and legal infrastructure over four more.

To support rapid expansion, NextGen implemented Vonigo’s franchise management software and centralized booking/call-center support, streamlining operations for franchisees and corporate staff.
