The Students Association of MacEwan University Gains Value by Switching to VolunteerHub

The Students' Association of MacEwan University (SAMU) is a nonprofit that supports MacEwan students through programs and services and depends on roughly 300 active volunteers each year. SAMU switched from an earlier volunteer system because it lacked key capabilities—rewards and recognition, constituent groups, direct communication from the system, and self-check-in/Kiosk features—leaving many processes manual and limiting program growth.

Implementing VolunteerHub gave SAMU those missing tools: a rewards-and-recognition program with redeemable incentives, user-group organization, built-in email communications, and Kiosk/OnSite self-check-in. The change streamlined volunteer management, improved engagement and tracking, sped event check-ins, and—backed by ongoing support—allowed SAMU to scale and better deliver student services.
