Case Study: Tampa Bay Lightning achieves streamlined employee volunteer management with VolunteerHub

A VolunteerHub Case Study

The Lightning Couldn’t Imagine Employee Engagement without VolunteerHub

The Tampa Bay Lightning are committed to winning on and off the ice through their C.H.A.R.G.E. employee volunteer program, which asks full-time staff to give at least 40 hours annually to local nonprofits. While the team had built significant community impact—serving 200 charities and logging tens of thousands of volunteer hours—they were hampered by a manual system of online forms and Excel spreadsheets that made registration, tracking, and communication inefficient.

The Lightning implemented VolunteerHub to automate registration, simplify administration with Admin 2.0, and improve reporting and volunteer communications. The platform streamlined recruitment and tracking, helped the organization log over 45,000 volunteer hours (more than $1.1M in value) across hundreds of charities, and made it far easier to manage and grow the C.H.A.R.G.E. program.
