St. Matthew’s House is Managing 1.2 Million Dollars in Volunteer Hours with VolunteerHub

St. Matthew’s House is a Southwest Florida nonprofit that fights homelessness, hunger, substance abuse and poverty through shelters, feeding programs, workforce training and a yearlong rehab program. With rapid program growth and more than 1,500 active volunteers, the organization outgrew its paper- and email-based volunteer processes, which required extensive manual tracking, made communication difficult, and limited scalability.

In 2016 St. Matthew’s House implemented VolunteerHub, a cloud-based volunteer management system that enables self-registration, automated reminders/thank-yous, easier scheduling and streamlined reporting. The platform improved recruitment and retention, saved staff time, and has driven nearly 10,000 additional volunteer hours per year (about $246,900 in annual value), helping the organization manage over $1.2M in volunteer-hour value as it continues to grow.
