Voltus worked with a leading wastewater service provider that wanted to turn high electricity costs into a new revenue stream through demand response while also supporting grid reliability and meeting ESG goals. The customer identified 1 MW of curtailable load as part of the effort to reduce operating costs and participate in electricity markets.

Voltus installed its Voltlet monitoring device and gave the customer access to the Voltus platform for real-time energy visibility and reporting, while also helping define a curtailment plan using the plant’s DCS control system. With Voltus’s support, the wastewater treatment plant earned over $26,000 per month on average in 2022, generated more than $314,000 in revenue that year, and avoided 4 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
