Large Higher Education worked with Voltus to address high electricity costs and create a new revenue stream through demand response, while also supporting grid reliability and advancing its ESG goals. Voltus evaluated the campus’s operations and identified 3 MW of curtailable load across multiple buildings, then provided an earnings estimate and a simple no-cost, no-risk agreement.

Voltus installed its Voltlet device for 30-second interval energy monitoring and gave the customer access to the Voltus platform for real-time usage visibility and reporting on demand response dollars. Working together on dispatch communications and a curtailment plan, the customer earned over $47,000 per month on average in 2022, generating nearly $575,000 for the year and avoiding 47 metric tons of CO₂ emissions.
