Residential complex generates over $40,000/year supporting electric grid reliability

Voltus worked with a leading residential complex that wanted to reduce electricity costs while creating a new revenue stream through demand response and supporting grid stability and ESG goals. The complex had significant curtailable load and was looking for a way to turn flexible energy use into additional income.

Voltus evaluated the site’s eligibility, identified 5 MW of curtailable load, and installed its Voltlet monitoring device along with access to the Voltus platform for real-time usage visibility and earnings tracking. Working with Voltus, the customer followed a curtailment plan that included adjusting BMS temperature setpoints, generating over $40,000 in 2022 and averaging more than $3,000 per month, while also avoiding 20 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
