Case Study: Wells Fargo Wholesale Services Group achieves seamless, easy-to-use secure email communications with Voltage Security

A Voltage Security Case Study

Preview of the Wells Fargo Wholesale Services Group Case Study

While Wells Fargo no longer uses the Pony Express to communicate with customers,it still needs to guard messages, reports Greg Masters.

Wells Fargo, a diversified financial services company with $1.3 trillion in assets and hundreds of thousands of employees, needed a secure yet easy-to-use way to deliver confidential documents and communications quickly to customers and team members. Bipin Sahni’s team was charged with finding an email solution that preserved customer confidentiality, fit into a complex messaging environment, and minimized disruption to users.

They implemented Voltage SecureMail (identity-based encryption), integrating it with archiving, content scanning, DLP and mobile infrastructure so messages encrypt automatically without certificates, downloads or special software for recipients. The centrally managed, low‑TCO solution reduced operational overhead, supported regulatory compliance, enabled a company-wide rollout, and delivered trusted, seamless secure communications as a value-added service to customers.
