The Straz Center for the Performing Arts, a Tampa Bay venue serving more than 600,000 guests annually, relied on aging network infrastructure to support wireless operations, ticketing, stage automation, streaming media, live video, and hospitality services. As technology demands grew, the center needed to upgrade and future-proof its network without exceeding the budget constraints of a not-for-profit organization, so it turned to Vology for managed IT services and guidance.

Vology designed and delivered a full refresh of the Straz Center’s core infrastructure, including replacement of the aging cable plant, design and configuration support, pre-staging, and implementation assistance. The solution created a redundant, highly resilient network with Catalyst 3560-E switches load balancing across dual 10 Gigabit uplinks to redundant Catalyst 4500-X collapsed core switches, delivering up to 20 Gigabit of bandwidth and faster recovery from failures. As a result, the Straz Center met all requirements without compromise and gained a reliable foundation for future operations and technology growth.
