Integrated Human Factors (ihf) - Baseline NC, a provider of human factors technology for high-risk industries, faced the challenge of modernizing its wearable fatigue monitoring system. Their solution originally depended on a costly and limiting dedicated hardware hub for data transmission. They engaged VOLO Global to develop a native mobile app that would replace this hub, requiring reliable Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity to stream biometric data to the cloud every few seconds.

VOLO designed and delivered a native mobile application for Android and iOS that connected directly to the wearable via BLE, fully replacing the hardware hub. The solution used Kotlin Multiplatform for shared core logic and MQTT for real-time cloud syncing. This resulted in a 100% functional replacement of the hardware hub, a 98% biometric data accuracy rate, and significant cost reduction for the client, all delivered within the four-month timeline.
