Machine Learning Based Application using Time-of-Flight Camera Sensors for a Leading Manufacturer

The client, a leading advance electronic components and device manufacturer, needed a technology partner to help create a human detection and analysis solution for its B2B customers using its Time-of-Flight camera sensor. VOLANSYS was engaged to develop this machine learning-based application for use in building and premises automation.

VOLANSYS developed a Linux-based machine learning application that interfaced with the sensor. Their solution processed 3D point cloud data using a Support Vector Machine algorithm to detect and count humans, integrating a 3D viewer and the Robot Operating System (ROS2). This ROS2 integration significantly reduced system integration efforts, minimizing the client's entry barriers into the robotics market.
