Gateway Firmware Application to Support Silicon Labs Zigbee USB Dongle for US-Based Company

VOLANSYS worked with a US-based home automation company that wanted to expand its smart apartment solution. The customer faced challenges integrating a Zigbee dongle with its existing Z-Wave-based gateway, including a lack of APIs and a Linux-based Zigbee application in NCP mode.

VOLANSYS developed a comprehensive Linux-based Zigbee application and designed a REST API interface for the hub. This solution added support for numerous clusters and allowed for device management, enabling the integration of off-the-shelf Zigbee devices. The results included a faster time to market, with a new product version launched in under three months, and the successful upgrade of the customer's existing gateways with Zigbee connectivity.
