Vodafone Ireland faced the challenge of fulfilling its duty of care to employees, nearly half of whose health and safety issues were vehicle-related. The company needed a user-friendly fleet tracking solution that would improve driver safety without compromising privacy, and it also sought to simplify the recording of business mileage. Vendor Vodafone Global Enterprise provided its Vodafone Automotive solution to address this.

The Vodafone Automotive solution used the Vodafone Managed IoT Connectivity Platform to monitor driver behavior and location while offering a privacy button for out-of-hours use. This implementation by Vodafone Global Enterprise is expected to generate fuel cost savings of 10-15%, reduce maintenance and insurance costs, and, most importantly, establish a leadership position in employee duty of care for the company.
