Case Study: Ekso Bionics improves patient rehabilitation with Vodafone Managed IoT Connectivity

A Vodafone Global Enterprise Case Study

Preview of the Ekso Bionics Case Study

The Ekso GT exoskeleton remotely measures data on patient rehabilitation, with Vodafone IoT

E, faced a challenge in communicating patient recovery progress. Their Ekso GT exoskeleton, used for rehabilitation after strokes and spinal cord injuries, generated valuable data, but the company struggled to collect it, especially from devices abroad. A third of users had to manually retrieve data, preventing therapists from accessing real-time, accurate patient information to adapt treatments.

Vodafone implemented its Managed IoT Connectivity Platform to connect all exoskeletons globally. This solution enabled Ekso Bionics to securely gather real-time data from over 170 rehabilitation centers. The results were significant: the number of customers needing manual contact for updates was cut in half, and Ekso saw a 30% year-on-year increase in device utilization, directly aiding patient recovery through improved awareness of usage habits.
