A Vodafone Global Enterprise Case Study

Preview of the Rock in Rio Case Study

Rock in Rio improves the festival experience with Smart Cities from Vodafone IoT

The customer, Rock in Rio, a major international music festival, faced operational challenges in managing a temporary city of over 60,000 daily visitors. These challenges included long bathroom queues, monitoring water and power supplies, waste management, and air quality. They partnered with vendor Vodafone Global Enterprise to implement its Smart Cities IoT solutions to address these issues.

Vodafone implemented several IoT solutions, including Smart Toilets with occupancy sensors to reduce queues, Smart Water sensors to monitor reservoir levels, and systems for monitoring air quality and waste. The results included a significant reduction in bathroom wait times, the prevention of potential water shortages, and improved operational efficiency and safety. The vendor's solutions also provided valuable data for future planning and cost savings.
