Case Study: medic assist achieves smarter AED monitoring and lower maintenance costs with Vodafone Global Enterprise IoT connectivity

A Vodafone Global Enterprise Case Study

Preview of the medic assist Case Study

Philips and medic assist create next-generation AED services, using Vodafone IoT connectivity

medic assist, working with Vodafone Global Enterprise, needed a way to keep automated external defibrillators (AEDs) reliable and easy to manage across large sites. Their challenge was that battery-powered AEDs can suffer damage, component failures, or theft, and they require frequent, often daily, maintenance checks to ensure they are ready in an emergency.

Vodafone Global Enterprise helped medic assist deploy SmartConnect with the Vodafone Managed IoT Connectivity Platform to remotely monitor AED status and automatically alert operators to any failures. The solution improved maintenance efficiency and reduced costs, with the system already installed in 12,000 units and designed to scale to 100,000, while supporting customers such as local authorities, transport operators, and police forces.
