Mobike makes the case for smarter transport

Mobike, the smart bike sharing company from China, needed a way to support rapid international expansion while keeping deployment and connectivity simple across new markets. To meet this challenge, Mobike partnered with Vodafone Global Enterprise and used the Vodafone Managed IoT Connectivity Platform to connect its bikes globally outside China.

Vodafone Global Enterprise implemented an IoT SIM embedded in each bike’s smart lock, enabling bikes to be shipped and activated anywhere in the world and managed from a single platform. The solution helped Mobike scale quickly across more than 160 cities, support real-time bike location through its app, and collect transport data for future mobility insights, while also benefiting from the Vodafone brand.
