Mic-O-Data, a Dutch technology company specializing in RFID and GPRS solutions, needed a secure data connection with nationwide coverage to support TarDif, its refuse collection tracking and security product used by 25 Dutch local authorities. The challenge was to reliably track and secure 6,000 collection points across the country while also creating a platform that could support international expansion.

Vodafone Global Enterprise provided embedded Vodafone M2M technology through a SIM built into TarDif, enabling daily status reporting and alerts for full or improperly closed bins, plus support from a dedicated helpdesk and account manager. With Vodafone Global Enterprise, the solution helped local councils improve waste collection efficiency, reduce CO2 emissions by 18%, and deliver estimated savings of €92,035 in capital and operating costs.
