Feintool, a world leader in fineblanking systems for the automotive industry, faced the challenge of moving from reactive to preventative maintenance for its high-precision presses, which operate nearly continuously with limited downtime. The company needed a global, independent solution to monitor machine data in near real-time to optimize uptime for its customers, leading them to partner with vendor Vodafone.

The solution implemented by Vodafone involved connecting Feintool presses with Vodafone IoT SIMs and a Machinelink 3G device to its Remote Monitoring and Control Service (RMCS). This independent connectivity allowed for remote, real-time monitoring and data analysis. The results included an eight-minute daily productivity gain for one press after a specific fix was identified, and the service ensured robust data security. Vodafone provided the complete end-to-end solution that required minimal ongoing effort from Feintool.
