Whitsunday Regional Council deploys 70 Starlink services with Vocus to connect remote crews

Whitsunday Regional Council, a local government council supporting a vast area of North Queensland, faced significant connectivity challenges, particularly for its remote work crews in areas without 4G coverage. To address this, they partnered with Vocus to implement Starlink satellite technology.

Vocus, along with partners Airbridge Networks and Starlink, provided a solution consisting of 50 Starlink units for vehicle fleets and 20 fixed services for critical locations. This implementation by Vocus dramatically improved connectivity for both work crews and emergency services, ensuring reliable communication across the council's jurisdiction and enhancing the quality of life for the community.
