Drees Homes partnered with Vocon for planning and urban design services to address a city-issued RFP. The challenge was to create a master plan for 11.2 acres of vacant land, developing the city's first new residential community in two decades in a way that would support neighborhoods affected by a school relocation and integrate seamlessly with the existing area.

Vocon's solution was to design Forest Commons, a plan featuring an innovative mix of housing types including patio homes, duplexes, detached single-family residences, and townhomes. This diverse range was crafted to respect the existing neighborhood's character while creating a cohesive, walkable, and inclusive community with intentional public spaces. The development successfully met the city's goal of offering diverse and accessible living choices.
