Cognizant, a global IT services company, needed a secure, interoperable hybrid cloud platform to combine its private and public clouds, improve resource utilization and speed up virtual resource requests. Its in-house provisioning tools offered limited private-cloud capabilities and lacked app-level health data, leaving administrators without a single-pane view and delaying root-cause identification and remediation.

Cognizant deployed VMware vRealize Suite Enterprise (including vRealize Automation, Operations, Log Insight and Blue Medora integrations) and tied it into its Unified Self-Service Portal to enable policy-driven IaaS and automated Day‑2 operations. The result: provisioning time fell from 10 days to a few hours, developers gained a seamless self-service experience, administrators obtained deep, application-level visibility for proactive monitoring and capacity planning, and automation improved resource utilization and reduced manual effort and downtime risk.
