A VMware Case Study
The Vallejo Sanitation and Flood Control District (VSFCD), a local government agency responsible for wastewater treatment and flood protection in Vallejo, CA, needed to run critical water and sewer IT systems 24/7 with a very small IT staff. The district also had to give employees secure, anytime/anywhere access to their desktops from any endpoint while protecting sensitive infrastructure from modern cyber threats.
VSFCD deployed VMware NSX for network virtualization and micro‑segmentation, VMware Horizon for virtual desktops, and VMware AirWatch for mobile device management. The integrated solution tightened security from endpoint to network, enabled rapid desktop provisioning and remote access, reduced hardware and energy costs, and helped the district maintain continuous operations with ~99.99% uptime while allowing just two administrators to manage the environment.
