Case Study: Vox achieves One-Click Virtual Data Centre and On-Demand Cloud Delivery with VMware NSX

A VMware Case Study

Preview of the Vox Case Study

Vox creates an innovative, disruptive, one-click virtual data centre

Vox Telecom, an independent South African telco, set out to build a Virtual Data Centre that let resellers and customers rapidly deploy easily customisable, self-managed platforms with one-click scaling. The challenge was to support integration across on‑premise and public cloud environments while automating network and security provisioning so customers could provision services themselves without lengthy manual processes.

Vox upgraded vCloud Director and deployed VMware NSX to virtualise networking and add automatic IP provisioning, integrated firewalls and self‑service controls, plus REST APIs and microsegmentation for new upsell services. The result: one‑click, on‑demand cloud services with hourly billing, lower support and infrastructure costs, faster provisioning (3‑day rollout after two weeks’ prep) and greater agility and integration with public cloud options.
