A VMware Case Study
Accent Group (Accent Housing) is a leading UK housing association managing around 20,000 homes and providing social housing to thousands of people. Rapid growth through mergers exposed limits in its ageing HPE blade and SAN infrastructure: storage capacity and performance were constrained, provisioning was slow and costly, and the organisation faced increased risk to its disaster recovery and regulatory compliance.
Phoenix replaced the aging stack with a VMware-based hyperconverged infrastructure (vSphere with vSAN), handling design, installation, migration and training. The all‑flash HCI delivered noticeably faster application performance and IO throughput, simplified administration and DR failover, reduced rack/power requirements and license costs (from 36 to 24 vSphere licenses), and created a scalable, future‑proof platform that Accent is already expanding with additional nodes.
