Case Study: Persistent Systems achieves rapid training-environment rollout and major cost and storage savings with VMware Horizon (VMware)

A VMware Case Study

Preview of the Persistent Systems Case Study

VMware helped Persistent to implement virtual desktop infrastructure with VMware Horizon, which enabled a single digital workspace for users

Persistent Systems, a Pune‑headquartered technology services company with global operations, faced a fragmented virtual desktop model for its Learning & Development teams. With infrastructure scattered across seven sites, IT teams were manually managing some 2,500 training desktops under tight deadlines, limited staff and budget, and struggled with manageability, performance and security.

By deploying VMware Horizon 7.3, Persistent centralized virtual desktops into a single digital workspace, enabling central master‑image updates, faster provisioning across locations and devices, elastic scaling and stronger security. The rollout eliminated manual updates, sped delivery of training environments, reduced storage and operational costs (reported storage reductions of roughly 70–80%), and improved ROI and overall infrastructure stability.
