Telekom Malaysia (TM), the country’s leading converged communications provider, faced the challenge of re‑platforming a decade‑old, business‑critical SAP environment from legacy hardware to a modern private cloud while avoiding disruption, minimizing downtime and improving scalability, agility and cost efficiency.

Working with CTC Global and VMware Professional Services, TM migrated its SAP systems onto a VMware SDDC private cloud, redesigning servers, OS and databases and applying SAP best practices. The move cut SAP infra‑readiness from three months to under five days, reduced hardware costs by about 75% and software costs by 25%, boosted system performance up to 70% and improved employee task times by up to 60%, while strengthening disaster recovery, cloud management and overall business agility.
