A VMware Case Study
Thekking, an Icelandic IT service provider, was struggling with a fragmented, mixed virtualization environment (including Hyper‑V) that required too many tools, drove up costs across multiple small clusters, and left no protected management plane to handle outages—forcing staff to spend excessive time on manual fixes and prolonging customer downtime.
By standardizing both datacenters on VMware vSphere with Operations Management and vSAN, Thekking consolidated 700 VMs (about 95% of servers virtualized), created a separate management cluster, and adopted Log Insight and vRealize for monitoring and capacity planning. The result is faster service delivery and troubleshooting, fewer interruptions and improved uptime, and reduced capital and operational expenditure—substantially lowering business risk and improving customer experience.
