Synergent Taps VMware NSX for MicroSegmentation and IT Automation in the Software-Defined Data Center

Synergent, an IT services bureau supporting credit unions, needed to build a secure, private cloud that could host legacy financial applications in a multi-tenant environment while speeding customer onboarding and lowering operational costs. The company faced networking and security challenges because many core applications were not designed for cloud multi-tenancy and previously required onsite hardware and co-management.

Synergent deployed VMware NSX with VMware vCloud Suite to virtualize networking and automate its Software-Defined Data Center, enabling micro-segmentation, policy-based security, and centralized management. In 3–4 weeks the team virtualized about 99% of 700 servers, reduced provisioning times and capital expenditures, and gained the agility and secure multi-tenant control needed to remotely provision and scale services for customers.
