Case Study: Prague Stock Exchange achieves stronger data security and streamlined management with VMware NSX

A VMware Case Study

Preview of the Prague Stock Exchange Case Study

Prague Stock Exchange Improves its Data Security

Prague Stock Exchange (PSE), the Czech Republic’s largest securities market organiser, needed to strengthen protection for highly sensitive securities and trading data while consolidating and simplifying its IT environment. The key challenges were improving operational and data security, reducing infrastructure complexity, and making system changes faster and safer without disrupting users or market operations.

PSE deployed VMware NSX for micro-segmentation alongside an already advanced virtualization and VDI rollout (≈90% of servers virtualized), enabling fine‑grained, application-level security and simplified management. Early results include stronger data protection and reputation, faster change deployment, a smaller physical footprint (computer rooms reduced from three to one, racks from ten to four, fewer backup nodes) and improved disaster-recovery readiness, with plans to replace internal firewalls and expand VMware tooling.
