The Professional Provident Society (PPS) is a Johannesburg-based mutual financial services firm serving graduate professionals. As its environment grew, PPS faced a manual, resource‑intensive disaster recovery (DR) process that risked failing compliance audits and could not be tested without disrupting production—making it impossible to reliably meet the business’s four‑hour recovery objective.

PPS implemented VMware Site Recovery Manager integrated with its vSphere and Tintri storage to automate DR sequencing, IP management and failover.
