Pekao Financial Services Digital Transformation Accelerates Service Delivery

Pekao Financial Services, a Warsaw-based provider managing over €20 billion in assets and part of the Pekao banking group, needed an IT environment that could support critical financial applications with top-level security, high availability and cost-effective operations. The company faced pressure to speed up service delivery and reduce the costly risk of downtime while protecting against cyber and internal threats.

By virtualizing servers and desktops with VMware (vSphere 6.7 and Horizon 7.5), Pekao built a scalable, centrally managed infrastructure (about 70% server and 60% desktop virtualization) that tightened security, shortened provisioning times and simplified recovery. The result was greatly increased reliability (near-zero unplanned downtime with a 99.995% SLA), faster launches of new systems and development environments, and higher employee productivity that accelerated delivery of new products and services.
