Modernizing the Dutch construction sector with digital transformation

Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma (BGDD) is a family‑owned Dutch construction firm known for sustainable, prefabricated housing and industrialized building processes. Facing a need to digitize project delivery across offices and sites, the company struggled with slow access to large BIM, AutoCAD and 3D files, fragmented endpoint management and the need for secure, compliant access for distributed teams.

BGDD moved from Citrix to a full VDI built on VMware Workspace ONE (powered by AirWatch) and VMware Horizon, implemented with partner Fondo. The deployment unified endpoint and app management, delivered a consistent user experience for about 100 on‑site and remote users, strengthened security and GDPR/ISO compliance (ISO 27001/9001), enabled remote wipe and over‑the‑air updates, reduced paper through digital workflows, and created a platform for future on‑site IoT connectivity.
