Insurance Company Die Mobiliar Realises Secure and Flexible Digital Workplaces

Die Mobiliar, Switzerland’s oldest private insurer headquartered in Bern with ~4,900 employees, sought to accelerate workplace digitisation while enabling a Choose Your Own Device (CYOD) policy. Their legacy MDM mix struggled with stability, security and iOS update compatibility, creating productivity and data-protection risks as more staff used mobile devices for email, calendar and customer work.

Die Mobiliar implemented VMware AirWatch (Workspace ONE) on-premise, running a pilot in January 2016 and rolling out a self-service migration in April 2016. The solution enabled secure, flexible access to corporate email, calendar and data on private devices, introduced an AirWatch Container for sensitive content, and allowed immediate support for new iOS releases—improving usability, safeguarding confidential information and integrating employees’ personal devices into the corporate environment.
