Improved Wan Reliability. Reduced Branch Capex Costs

Devcon Construction, a top-100 ENR firm headquartered in Milpitas with 50 branch offices across California and Nevada, needed to deliver demanding cloud-based BIM and collaboration tools to remote sites. A patchwork of local broadband and costly/slow T1/MPLS links, poor visibility, and limited central control caused unreliable VoIP and video, slow large-file transfers, security challenges for third-party access, and frequent IT travel to troubleshoot sites.

Devcon deployed VMware NSX SD-WAN by VeloCloud to virtualize the WAN over existing links, using Dynamic Multi‑Path, preconfigured edge devices, centralized orchestration, and integrated Wi‑Fi. The rollout standardized branch connectivity, improved application performance and visibility, and enabled granular access control and remote troubleshooting—cutting WAN CAPEX by 75%, OPEX (onsite IT visits) by 50%, reducing hardware footprint, and significantly improving collaboration and end-user productivity.
